We demonstrate laser oscillation in InAs/GaAs single quantum dot (SQD) and photonic crystal nanocavity coupled systems. The coupled SQD provides most of the gain and distinct SQD feature is observed in the photon statistics. Depending on the light-matter coupling strength, laser oscillation starts in the weak- or strong-coupling regime. It is significant that the polariton doublet is still observed...
An analysis based on the power signature concept for detecting oscillation in power system is proposed. The proposed analysis will separate the power due to various loads and the power due to imposed oscillation. Three-phase instantaneous power is based on pq theory where in this domain we can easily distinguish between average power, oscillating power due to nonlinear load, and the new imposed power...
We discuss recent advances in light-matter interaction in a single quantum dot embedded with photonic crystal nanocavity, including demonstration of a transition from strong coupling regime to lasing oscillation by the single dot gain.
