A timing synchronization algorithm with a new timing metric function is proposed for CO-OFDM system. Simulation results show that the MSE of the proposed algorithm is very close to zero in the system without chromatic dispersion, even though the OSNR is low. And it can provide higher accuracy comparing with other methods when the dispersion reaches 18ps/nm/km.
