It's the first time to comprehensively and theoretically analyze the effect of the phase fluctuation on the shape of Brillouin phase spectrum, and the first time to design a new experimental setup to fully cancel phase fluctuation induced measurement errors.
Phase fluctuation in the downlink and uplink of a bidirectional analog fiber link is simultaneously cancelled in our proposal based on frequency mixing. Phase drift of 86ps/31ps for 2.4GHz signal is reduced to 3.2ps/2.5ps after 25-km SMF transmission.
