We compare results from Lumerical's one-dimensional traveling wave compact gain model running within INTERCONNECT with those from LASTIP, a 2D laser model from Crosslight Software. Agreement on the order of 10 and 20 percent was obtained for the average carrier densities and LI curves, respectively.
Current-induced spin-transfer torque (STT) is a mainstream method of switching the magnetization of free layer of magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) [1-2]. However, currently STT-MTJ is suffering from speed and energy bottlenecks caused by two tradeoffs: firstly, since the critical write current (Ic0) is proportional to the thermal stability barrier (Δ), it is difficult to reduce Ic0 without decreasing...
Environmental conditions in data centers determine the reliability of the IT equipment and operational uptimes. Due to continuous increase in energy usage and a trend towards sustainability, leads many data center operators to lean towards implementing energy efficiency measures. Many of today's data center are operated in a narrow temperature and relative humidity band, however these may change as...
This paper addresses the need for self-consistent simulation of mixed electrical and optical circuits and systems. Drawing on the use of modified nodal analysis (MNA) techniques ubiquitous in circuit simulation, an optical node is formulated which includes the magnitude and phase of the optical signal being simulated. This node consists of two propagating complex envelopes one for the forward direction...
