All-optical on-off-keying to 16 quadrature amplitude modulation conversion based on cross-phase modulation of nonlinear optical loop mirror with 1:2 coupler configuration is proposed and demonstrated at 10Gs/s both theoretically and experimentally.
We experimentally demonstrate RZ-BPSK modulation format conversion based on fiber nonlinearity. To suppress the effects of walk-off and parametric gain, we design the parameters of HNLF, probe and control pulses. We investigate the timing and dispersion tolerance at the bit rate of 10.7 Gb/s.
