The development of vehicle-detection radar system has attracted much attention in recent years due to the increasing interest of smart car and traffic control applications [1, 2]. The success of such radar applications highly depend on reliable estimation of signal echo from the targets, which provide the information of target detection, vehicle identification, and the estimation of locations and...
The Floquet modes of a two-dimensional (2-D), infinite periodic array of antennas with its radiation focusing at an arbitrary location, are investigated. The work is motivated by the incompleteness of array theory to treat this type of problem. In particular, a ray-based mechanism previously developed for the 1-D case [1] is extended to interpret the radiation mechanism, and compensates the existing...
A new synthesis technique is developed for a phased array antenna to radiate optimum field patterns in its near- or far-zone. This technique employs a domain transformation of field basis functions using array elements' radiations, and may overcome the over-coverage problems arising from the broad patterns of basis functions. The technique accelerates the synthesis procedure because the new, transformed...
The electromagnetic interferences (EMI) caused by noises resulted from the common mode of stacked I/O connectors are analyzed using both numerical simulations and experimental measurements. A strategy is presented to suppress the noise level and its emission as well, which is found to be very effective as shown in our examination.
