In Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) the loop resistance is a key parameter which can characterize the contact condition of the conductive circuit. The current method to measure loop resistance was mostly proposed and used in routine test, commissioning test and overhaul. The monitoring of abnormal conditions of contacts in operation has not been realized yet. To early detect the hidden contact defects...
This paper presents a comprehensive analysis and discussion of how to design a high resolution and low thermal drift eddy current sensor (ECS). A simple transformer based equivalent model was presented to explain the influence of target conductivity and working frequency to the ECS's sensitivity and stability. The relationships between the ECS's performances and target conditions were also obtained...
This paper presents the design, fabrication and synthesis of a carbon nanotube Pirani vacuum gauge which comprises 5-μm-long SWNTs as heater and Au/W as electrodes. Results show that the TCR of SWNTs is negative and about -0.004/°C. SWNTs Pirani vacuum gauge was demonstrated with a dynamic range of 2500Pa to 40Pa in air environment. The average sensitivity of SWNTs Pirani vacuum gauge is about 914Ω/Pa...
