In this paper, a novel phase regenerator with semiconductor optical amplifier is proposed. By theoretical analysis and simulation, the optimum parameters of phase regenerator are obtained. By comparing the phasor diagrams, received data and Q-factors before and after regeneration, the effectiveness of the phase regenerator is proved. The results show that nearly ideal regeneration is achieved and...
Phase shaped binary transmission (PSBT) is a kind of duobinary modulation formats. It has narrower spectrum structure. In this paper, the principle of PSBT format is investigated and its performance in chromatic dispersion, nonlinearity and polarization mode dispersion (PMD) are studied. The PMD compensation system is set up and the results show that PMD tolerance is enhanced effectively after compensation.
