To reduce the electromagnetic radiation, we set a metal layer to surround lightning rod for shielding. Then we use the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method to analyze the field distribution laws of this situation. Moreover, we also calculate the corresponding field distribution without metal layer for comparison. It is shown that the metal layer affects the electromagnetic field distribution...
Mesh generation is the prerequiste of Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) method. In this paper, singular points in mesh is classified and a new strategy is proposed to deal with these points directly. In addition, a parallell algoritm is implemented with OpenMP to accelerate the mesh process. In the end, a test example is provided to verify the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed improved algorithm.
Finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method is used to perform three dimension simulations for the optical performance of 1.75μm pitch pixels of CMOS image sensor. A three dimension pixel model for CMOS image sensor pixels is set up. Micro-lens optimization, dielectric stack height reduction can decrease the optical power loss. A SiN layer with proper thickness can reduce the reflection at the Si–SiO...
To obtain the electromagnetic characteristics of 3D targets using FDTD method, the target model should be meshed. It is proposed that model files are preprocessed with the software 3ds max to get the triangular facets models of targets in obj format. The parity of intersections number method is introduced for meshing and the method of winding numbers is used to determine the position of intersections...
The cabin of train, ship and aircraft and other open metal cavity is mostly a cavity with a window on it. There are controllers, signal sources or other sensitive electronic equipments in it. In this paper the electromagnetic coupling characteristics through the window of the metal cavity being struck by lightning was studied. The model chosen is a cavity with a window on it. And the Finite-Difference...
The predigested physical model is set up in this paper according to the geometry shape of the earthing electrode, and the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method is used to get the transient grounding resistance (TGR) waveform of the earthing electrode, based on the experimental method. It is showed that the calculation results and the experimental results match well.
The finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method was used to study the plane wave coupling into a rectangular shielded enclosure through a aperture, and the theoretical prediction agree with the measured characteristics well. Results show that: 1) if the wave sources travel vertically to the aperture, the coupling field inside the cavity is mainly composed of different modes resonance fields; and 2)...
Aimed to solve the time-domain convolution in the analysis of transmission line coupling problems, a digital filtering method is proposed to be used in the one-dimensional FDTD computations. Discrete transfer function that represents features of ground impedance is applied to simplify the convolution. Examples demonstrate that the method is effective when the conductivity of the soil is between 10...
