This paper presents the reason that the conventional magnetron could not effectively operate in W-band and provides the new design method of using spatial harmonic and working at π/2 mode. After simulation analysis, a W band pulsed magnetron is produced successfully.

Then, this paper illustrative an example of simulation, using the 3-D PIC simulation of MAGIC, given in order to show peculiarities of the operation of the spatial harmonic magnetron in W-band.
