In this paper, a dual-orthogonal polarized Vivaldi antenna with high port isolation is presented. The dual-polarized antenna structure is achieved by inserting two orthogonal Vivaldi antennas in a cross-shaped form without a galvanic contact. To satisfy the low-end bandwidth requirements and improve the radiation characteristics in the lower frequencies, a novel exponential tapered slot edge (ETSE)...
Based on the wideband multi-input multi-output (MIMO), channel measurements carried out in downtown Helsinki, Finland, with 11 measurement routes at 3 base station (BS) sites, a full path-loss model including transition region is developed for urban microcells with Manhattan street blocks. The carrier frequency was 5.3 GHz with 100 MHz bandwidth. The size of a transition region is about 7–10 times...
A compact and planar dual-antenna structure is reported which combines a printed monopole and a half-slot antenna to provide dual polarization. Different excited current modes are utilized to obtain low mutual coupling between elements. A prototype is fabricated and the measured results are presented. Relative bandwidth of 23.5% and isolation of better than 23 dB are achieved.
