Output-inductor-less full-bridge converter for a High-Voltage Direct-Current power distribution system has been proposed. This proposed circuit topology suppresses the surge voltage due to the secondary-side diode's recovery, and miniaturizes the converter because the number of circuit components is reduced. On the other hand, some problems occur, such as the increasing switching-loss of primary switches...
A high-voltage full bridge dc-dc converter has a big problem of high-voltage surge occurrence across secondary-side rectifying diodes. In order to solve this problem, a simple solution with a snubber capacitor has been proposed. This technique provides a prominent effect of surge-voltage suppression. On the other hand, it deteriorates the control characteristics of this converter. In this paper, the...
This paper presents the novel driving technique of synchronous rectifier (SR) for the LLC converter. The unique characteristic of “Vo*D=constant” of LLC converter is utilized to predict optimal duty ratio D, where D is the conduction period of secondary diode. This technique does not need the sensing of SR current neither SR voltage. The technique is confirmed by experimentally.
This paper discusses the operating characteristics of push-pull type series resonant converter. The AC equivalent model and AC analysis of push-pull type series resonant converter are confirmed by analytically and experimentally. Moreover, the operating characteristics of push-pull type series resonant converter including SR are also investigated.
Recently, the series resonant converter is widely used for various applications. Moreover, the synchronous rectifier technique has been investigated in low voltage application achieving higher efficiency. The bi-directional series resonant converter can be realized by establishing the synchronous rectifier technique. This paper investigates the ac equivalent model and operating characteristics of...
Nowadays high power density, high performance, and high efficiency converters become a hot issue of the PDP TV. For meeting requirements, the design and implementation of LLC resonant converter using low-profile magnetic component for PDP is proposed in this paper. In order to use a flat transformer, it is necessary to operate the converter at high switching frequency. In the LLC resonant converter,...
