The Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)-PbTiO3 crystals are grown by the flux solution methods with 3 kinds of dopants, Fe, Mn, and Rh. Photorefractive properties are investigated. We also measure the extinction spectra including the scattering, electrooptic coefficients, photoconductivity, and photovoltaic effect. The two-wave-mixing gain of more than 20 cm-1 is obtained
In this study we developed a novel synthesis called "ferrite route," by which we can fabricate Fe nanoparticles larger than 10 nm at a yield 10 times higher than that obtained by the above mentioned methods. Synthesis is made at 90degC, without using any hazardous materials. We found that the Fe nanoparticles via the ferrite route were more easily embedded in poly-glycidyl methacrylate (poly-GMA),...
Iron-doped Pb(Zn/sub 1/3/Nb/sub 2/3/)O/sub 3/-PbTiO/sub 3/ relaxor ferroelectric crystal was grown by the flux method. The photorefractive effect is investigated and a larger two-beam coupling gain coefficient is obtained. The photochromism is observed under the illumination of blue or green laser light.
