We developed a carbon nanotube field emission x-ray system for computed tomography imaging. The obtained x-ray images were reconstructed to tomography image using back projection and filtered back projection algorithm. The resulting reconstructed x-ray image clearly shows micrometer scale.
An optimized multi-electrode type compact x-ray is developed using the COMSOL Multi-physics. To adjust various parameters inspected the effects on the minimum F.S.S. at the anode electrode. The four parameters (electrode voltage, electrode thickness, electrode distance, focusing electrode) studied for optimized structure. These results are used to develop an optimized CNT x-ray source. Micro Focused...
We have grown functionalized CNT using the resist-assisted patterning process. The single have enhanced and very stabilized electron emission. We obtained the long term stability which the field emission current of the single emitters remains stable up to 20 hrs. The single emitters can be used in the vacuum nano-electronics devices. More detail electron emission properties should be delivered in...
We investigated a new type of triode structure with bridge shaped gate (bridge gate) for CNT lamp. This triode structure was assembled with the parts, anode, gate, and cathode. Robust CNT emitters, cathode, were formed by resist assisted patterning (RAP) method. Field emission characteristics of triode structure were measured. The measured anode current was almost same cathode current. The negligible...
In this study, a simple process has been proposed for vertically aligned CNT growth on metal foil and then the applied CNT emitter as electron source for X-ray generation. The CNTs were grown using a triode dc-PECVD (plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition). The growth temperature was maintained at 700 degC. To confirm the electron emission of the vertically aligned CNTs on metal foil, emission current...
In this paper, three types of multi walled carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were grown with a conventional method (Type I), resist-assisted patterning (Type II, RAP), and robust (Type III) method. Electron emission current were compared with atmospheric stability of CNTs grown through plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition. For environmental stability measurements, these samples were annealed in 700 degC...
