A 100 GHz photoreceiver was designed, fabricated, and integrated with a pHEMT amplifier, based on a photonic power supply. In this paper, a high data rate photonic wireless communication over 11 Gbps is demonstrated.
We report a 30–110 GHz, high conversion gain, and high output photodetector consisting of a hybrid integration of a high-speed photodetector and an RF amplifier with an additional gain emphasis circuit. High data-rate photonic wireless communication over 44 Gbps was demonstrated with a pre-distortion technique. The minimum optical input power level for an error free operation was also discussed.
This paper presents an optical feedforward linearization system to suppress the 3rd order intermodulation distortion (IMD3) products of a directly modulated laser for radio over fiber applications, with a detailed discussion on the technique used in adjusting the magnitude and phase shift parameters, and matching the path delay of the feedforward system. A reduction of 14dB in IMD3 product over a...
A multigigabit relay transceiver system based on analog radio-over-fiber technology is proposed and experimentally evaluated for broadband radio-signal transmission in the millimeter-wave band, particularly at 60 GHz. The combination of a high-speed optical modulator and a photodiode provides signal delivery over an optical fiber. The observed dynamic range and resultant error vector magnitude of...
