We report on orthogonally polarized dual-wavelength operation of a continuous-wave Yb:KGW laser. Gain equalization of the two wavelengths with the Nm- and Np-polarizations was attributed to the effect of anisotropic thermal lensing.
Intracavity losses of Yb-ion laser oscillators cannot be properly estimated using the traditional Findlay-Clay analysis. This work provides a simple, accurate and dynamic technique to determine them based on the wavelength-dependent gain analysis.
