The stochastic characteristics of a 3×3 MIMO RF channel enabled by two-mode graded index fiber are experimentally investigated in terms of Rice K-factor and condition number of channel matrix over different fiber reach. The results show that spatial multiplexing benefits from longer fiber reach despite of higher optical loss.
Transmission of 3-spatial-stream 80-MHz 64-QAM MIMO wireless signals over 3 spatial modes of 200-m conventional GI-MMF employing 3D waveguide photonic lanterns is experimentally demonstrated. The impacts of mode coupling on channel matrix and link dynamic range are investigated.
Radio-over-fiber-based distributed antenna systems promise to provide broadband indoor wireless coverage with transparency to radio communication standards and operating bands. The IEEE802.11n/ac standards approved recently with new technological features bring about a set of challenges and issues to the radio-over-fiber-based distributed antenna systems, which are addressed and discussed in this...
