This paper proposes a power-efficient capacitor-array-based digital-to-time converter (DTC) using a constant-slope approach. Fringe-capacitor-based digital-to-analog converter (C-DAC) array is used to regulate starting supply voltage of the constant slope fed to a fixed threshold comparator. The proposed DTC consumes only 15 μW from a 1V supply, while achieving fine resolution of 103 fs when running...
On-chip communication is the bottleneck of system performance for NoC-based MPSoCs. SMART, a recently proposed NoC architecture, enables single-cycle multi-hop communications. In SMART NoCs, unconflicted messages can go through an express bypass and the communication efficiency is significantly improved, while conflicted messages have to be buffered for guaranteed delivery with extra delays. Therefore,...
Although SMART NoC, as an emerging dynamically reconfigurable NoC architecture, is able to improve the communication efficiency significantly when scheduling real-time flows, it introduces uncertainty due to the nondeterministic latency. In this regard, we first study the schedulability of a set of arbitrary-deadline flows with given priorities. Based on schedulability analysis, an efficient priority...
Based on the ray tracing method, the outdoor propagation characteristic at 28GHz are simulated and analyzed by comparison with the conventional 2.6GHz cellular band. The path loss is discussed in both line-of-sight and none-line-of-sight, and then the delay spread is analyzed at 28GHz and 2.6GHz. The analysis provides the foundation for the coverage of outdoor microcellular systems.
The digital-to-time converter (DTC)-based all-digital phase locked loop (ADPLL) attracts more and more attention due to its ultra-lower power consumption characteristic [1]. With DTC, the time-to-digital converter's (TDC) requirements are relaxed, not only for its range but also for its nonlinearity. However, the shortened TDC range, which is less than one digital controlled oscillator (DCO) output...
In echo-based audio watermarking methods, poor robustness and low embedding capacity are the main problems. In this paper, we propose a novel time-spread echo method for audio watermarking, aiming to improve the robustness and the embedding capacity. To improve the robustness, we design an efficient pseudonoise (PN) sequence and a corresponding decoding function. Compared to the conventional PN sequence...
Massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system, in which base stations are equipped with a large number of antennas in a two-dimensional (2D) antenna array, is one of the most promising technologies to improve the spectral efficiency of cellular networks. Since there is no channel reciprocity, the frequency-division duplexing (FDD) massive MIMO system has to obtain channel state information...
