Active mode-locking of continuous wave pumped fiber optical parametric oscillators is reported. Stable 10 GHz pulses are obtained with tuning range of 21 nm.
We report the experimental demonstration of pulsed pump optical parametric amplifier for all-optical time de-multiplexing of 160-Gb/s signals. 14.5-dB of conversion gain with less than 2-dB power penalty were achieved for de-multiplexed sixteen 10-Gb/s tributaries.
All-optical 1:8 de-multiplexer for 80 Gbps optical time-division multiplexing signals is demonstrated using fibre-based wavelength exchange. Error-free operation is achieved over all de-multiplexed channels with les2.1 dB power penalty at 10-9 bit-error rate.
An all-optical differentiator making use of cross-gain modulation (XGM) in optical parametric amplifier (OPA) has been demonstrated. The experimental results of differentiating the periodic and pseudo-random signals are shown.
