In order to conform mobile base station antenna simply for the next generation mobile system (5G), a cylindrical lens antenna is developing. For the lens material, negative refractive index is used so as to reduce lens thickness. In this paper, relations of lens parameters and lens shapes are investigated. Design parameters for achieving practical thin lens shapes are clarified. Moreover, lens shaping...
For the next generation (5G) mobile base station antennas, authors are developing a cylindrical lens antenna featuring a simple configuration compared to the present array antenna configuration. In order to achieve a cylindrical lens antenna, feed element should produce a bifurcated beam radiation. In this paper, the bifurcated beam is conformed by a bend array configuration. Relations of array element...
This paper presents the design of serial feed radiators in cylindrical lens antenna system for mobile base station application. The authors are developing a cylindrical lens antenna featuring a simple configuration compared to the present array antenna configuration. In order to achieve the cylindrical lens antenna, bifurcated beam radiation shall be produced by the feed elements. In this paper, the...
The practical array feed is achieved through developing the array element and the power divider. Important technical results developed are summarized as follows. (1) As array element antenna, the convenient patch antenna configuration is developed. (2) For the 30deg beam scanning, the 8 branch power divider is fabricated. Accurate excitation coefficients are ensured through the measured results. (3)...
The pattern-controllable novel small antenna with CRLH-PE has been proposed. The distance between the radiator and the parasitic element of the proposed antenna is 1/20 of wave length. The directivity in arbitrary direction is obtained by resonation of an appropriate PTLH-PE in the usable frequency band of the dipole antenna. The minimization of the radiator is future study.
