GaSb and alloys based on the 6.1 Å family can be grown metamorphically on substrates such as GaAs allowing for the realization of several multijunction solar cell designs. This paper investigates the molecular beam epitaxy growth, crystal quality, and device performance of AlxGa1−x Sb-based single-junction solar cells grown on GaAs substrates. The focus is on the optimization of the growth of AlxGa...
A flexible, lightweight GaSb solar cell has been attempted. The thin-film cell was bonded to a flexible carrier and isolated from the GaAs substrate by using epitaxial lift-off technique. The characteristics of the thin-film metamorphic GaSb cells are compared to regular metamorphic cells and lattice matched GaSb substrate cells. J-V characterization under 1 sun illumination is presented.
Blind deconvolution algorithms in image processing estimate the original image and the true Point Spread Function (PSF) simultaneously with prior information about the PSF or the original image. This is an ill-posed problem and requires regularization to be solved. In addition to the type of regularization functions, the value of regularization parameters can drastically affect the output result....
The geomagnetic storm represents the most outstanding example of solar wind- magnetospheric interaction, which causes global disturbances in the geomagnetic field as well as the trigger ionospheric disturbances. Under this problem we study the behaviour of ionospheric Total Electron Content (TEC) during the geomagnetic storms. For the present investigation we have selected 47 intense geomagnetic storms...
The ionospheric behavior is controlled by the solar output, therefore the ionospheric variability follows a synchronous variation with the solar activity. The solar activity follows a periodic long term variability, which therefore can be expected to be reflected in the ionospheric behavior. We investigated the variability of ionosphere by using the GPS derived Total Electron Content (TEC) at a mid...
Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is adopted as the main signaling protocol for the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS). Large deployment of SIP servers in Next Generation Networks (NGN) requires studying the behavior and performance of SIP servers under both normal and overload conditions, which may happen in such networks with a vast number of users. In this paper a measurement-based study is performed...
A high resolution interpolation scheme for use with the FDTD method at ELF frequencies under water is described. Since the interpolation is applied after the FDTD Simulation, it adds very little to the computation time or resources.
