We propose and experimentally demonstrate an integrated photonic Hilbert transformer (PHT) with substantial time bandwidth product (TBP). Due to the current substrate material and fabrication technique, PHT devices find it challenging to achieve ultrawide operative bandwidth while maintaining the minimum bandwidth level presented as the narrow central notch in frequency response. This implies that...
We demonstrate an integrated largest time-bandwidth product (TBP) microwave photonic Hilbert transformer, using synthesized Bragg grating design and fabrication techniques. Devices operate from 50 GHz to 2.5 THz, with the TBP approaching 50.
This paper presents an 8-elements phased array receiver front-end in 45nm CMOS technology. The receiver uses a 4-bit resolution RF phase shifter to compensate for the free-space propagation delay and an active eight-to-one power combiner enabling beam-forming. Each path shows more than 15.8dB of power gain with <0.5 dB of RMS gain variation for all 16 phase settings over the 3-dB gain bandwidth...
We propose and demonstrate a novel NRZ-DPSK-WDM system which can simultaneously demultiplex and demodulate multiple-wavelengths using single commercial AWG for rates between 10 and 40 Gb/s. BER results after transmission show the practicality of the system.
Ultra-fast self-routing of DPSK signals is demonstrated using a single processor for multiple spectral codes based on four-wave-mixing and selective filtering. A family of 10 codes with maximum bin separation for 10 and 20 Gb/s rates is demonstrated.
