Historically displays used three colorants in an additive system. The CIE chromaticity diagram adequately illustrated color capability. Modern displays are not constrained by this additive architecture and the diagram can fail in its purpose. The “gamut rings” diagram provides a solution to illustrate color capability that directly correlates to color gamut volume.
This paper is concerned with the problem of validation in the context of numerical computations in control. We explore the possibility of using computer algebra tools and interval methods to compute solutions which have guarantees on accuracy, e.g. which are not subject to unknown errors due to rounding or approximation. We demonstrate that this is possible for two common norms of a linear system...
The focus of this project is to facilitate program evaluation by creating a database that captures data about incidents, offenders, and offenses across the entire criminal justice system, while complying with national justice information sharing standards and maintaining individual stakeholders' legacy data systems. Current systems support individual functions and were not designed for cross-functional...
Various CMOS implementations of asynchronous NULL Convention Logic (NCL) gates have been compared in terms of area, speed, energy, power, supply voltage, and noise. Additionally, a new approach to design semi-static NCL gates has been introduced. Each gate type is used to realize a delay-insensitive 4×4 NCL multiplier and the simulation results are compared. It is shown that different realizations...
This paper reviews six IVGTF tasks related to interconnection and operating requirements, and provides a report on their objectives, milestones and status. The three interconnection tasks are: Interconnection Requirements Enhancement (Task 1.3); Low Voltage Ride-Through (LVRT) Requirements (Task 1.7); and Balancing Authority (BA) Communications (Task 2.2). The three operating tasks are: Incorporating...
To expand the use of distributed computer infrastructures as well as facilitate grid interoperability, OGSA has developed standards and specifications that address a range of scenarios, including high-throughput computing, federated data management, and service mobility.
While existing resource management software systems each have distinct and advanced capabilities, the way in which a user submits a basic job is generally similar across resource management systems. Recognizing this, the HPC profile working group in the open grid forum (OGF) has recently created a set of standards to define a common Web-services-based interface to resource management systems, thereby...
