We study here a 12-element conical antenna array made of four linear subarrays angularly spaced by 90 and with three probe-fed radiating elements per subarray. A prototype has been designed and manufactured. The measured radiation characteristics of the elementary radiating element (active pattern) and of the subarray are found in good agreement with the simulation results. The proposed array...
This paper presents a compact conformal phased array in a conical shape designed at the frequency of 5.2 GHz. The radiating elements and the beam forming network are described. A prototype is fabricated. Numerical and experimental results are compared and found to be in good agreement. The proposed phased array is very attractive for data exchanges with spinning flying systems.
We propose here a compact beam forming network developed for a switched beam antenna array printed on a conical fuze. Due to tight space constraints, the beam former is made of multiple stacked PCB layers; it is designed around 5.2GHz to excite a 12-element antenna array printed on a conical shape. The numerical results demonstrate very attractive performance and they are compared to some measurement...
This paper presents a phased array antenna printed on a conical structure. The array is designed to ensure reliable communications using a compact reconfigurable beam forming network embedded in a fuze. Simulations are carried out to assess the performances of such an array (in terms of radiation) and define the best phase weight coefficient for each radiating element of the antenna array. The numerical...
The antenna design for the ISLpsilas Guided Supersonic Projectile is presented. The influences of the projectile body on the radiation patterns are investigated and the feeding network is presented. Experimental results confirm the numerical ones.
