Both femtosecond and dual-wavelength picosecond operations of Nd,La:SrF2 disordered crystal laser have been demonstrated for the first time. In femtosecond operation, the laser generated mode-locked pulses with pulse duration of 156 fs, which is an average power of 90 mW, and a repetition rate of 108 MHz at the central wavelength of 1057 nm. In dual-wavelength picosecond operation, the laser generated...
Passively mode-locked lasers provide a convenient way to generate ultrafast laser pulses with high peak power. In this report, we gave introduction of progress of passively mode-locked mid-infrared solid-state lasers at 2 μm region in our laboratory.
We report on a diode-pumped passively mode-locked picosecond Tm: $\hbox{CaGdAlO}_{4}$ (Tm:CALGO) laser using a semiconductor saturable absorber mirror as the mode locker. With Tm:CALGO disordered crystal as gain medium, the mode-locked laser generated pulses with pulse duration of 27 ps, repetition rate of 128.6 MHz, and maximum average power of 330 mW at 1949.5 nm. To the best of our knowledge,...
