The rates of NO decomposition over Cu/Y-zeolites with higher ion exchange level were shown to be proportional to the amounts of NO 3 -type adsorbed species, whereas Cu/Y-zeolites with ion exchange levels lower than 22% had no effect on NO decomposition, and the O/N values calculated for the NOx adsorbed species on these catalysts with low ion exchange were less than 2.5.
