Micro/nano robots have been actively studied. Recently, the micro living organisms, especially flagellated bacteria, have been used as the driving forces for the microobjects. To achieve the more precise control of the bacteria-driven microobjects, we previously proposed to control the motion of the bacteria-driven microobjects by local environmental control with micro/nano pipettes. To achieve such...
The microstructures are expected to be used as the components of on-chip single cell analysis system such as cell manipulation and measurement tools. In this paper, we propose the on-chip fabrication method of microstructures with minimum dimensions of 5 ??m. The micro objects with arbitrary shape are fabricated by illumination of patterned UV-ray through the mask. The arbitrary shape objects are...
Enhancement of the pulsed terahertz radiation generated from an InAs thin film excited by a femtosecond laser is reported. A Si hemispherical lens was used as a lens coupler and attached on a 520 nm thick InAs film that was fabricated on a Si substrate. A factor of 7.5 enhancement in the THz wave amplitude from the InAs film with the lens coupler as compared to the bare InAs has been observed. The...
In this paper, we propose the on-chip fabrication method of microstructure with dimensions of ~ 20 mum to apply for the single cell analysis. The polymerized objects with arbitrary shape are fabricated by illumination of patterned UV-ray through the mask to the photo-crosslinkable resin on the microchip under a microscope. The mask is patterned the desired patterns. The fabricated polymerized objects...
We examined beam optics and emittance of a KrF laser ion source with a pepper-pot method. From copper plasmas produced by 2–4×10−8-W/cm2 laser irradiation, ion beams of ∼10 mA were extracted over 20 µs. Stability of the beam optics strongly depended on the flux balance(perveance matching) in the extraction gap. We achieved stable extraction by choosing adequate voltage and source plasma flux. A simple...
