We describe our setup of an optical lattice clock with 87Sr at PTB. In this we plan to measure the black body shift given by the ac-Stark shift from the ambient black body radiation and hence reduce the most critical contribution to the uncertainty of current lattice clocks.
The authors report on the current status of an optical frequency standard based on a laser cooled ensemble of free 40Ca atoms realized at PTB. It is shown how the achieved fractional uncertainty and instability of 1.2 times 10-14 and sigma (tau = 1 s) = 2 times 10-14 can be improved to below 10-15 and sigma(tau = 1 s) les 10-15, respectively
