In this paper, an effective cogging torque reduction method based on shifting the slot-openings is presented. Stator teeth are divided into groups and proper slot-opening shift is applied for each group. The cogging torque can then be greatly reduced while the back-EMF waveforms remain symmetrical. No additional back-EMF harmonic components will be introduced by this method. Analytical analysis revealing...
This paper introduces new PMSM with high dynamic performance, and its rotor structure adopts the optimal design which is made by holing rotor core and magnet shifting. This paper designed 7.5kw PMSM, which analyzes optimization design method and discusses effects on motor performance. FEA simulation results show that the new design rotor structure improved motor's dynamic performance, and reduced...
The PMSG (permanent magnet synchronous generator) with the rated power of 2MW which is driven directly without gear system is designed by equivalent magnetic-circuit method. In order to study the characteristics of permanent magnet generator directly driven by wind turbine with the rated power of 2MW, comparative study of the performance both of no load and rated load was studied under different design...
A bearingless permanent magnetic synchronous motor (BPMSM) has combined the characteristics of a permanent magnetic synchronous motor and magnetic bearings. The rotor suspension force is closely related to the air gap magnetic field of the torque windings. So accurately getting the magnitude and phase of the air-gap magnetic field on the torque windings is the key to precisely control the levitation...
In this paper, an optimal design method of a high power permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) turbine by wind is proposed. The expression of the cogging torque was studied based on the Fourier analysis. A method of permanent magnet shifting to reduce cogging torque was presented. In this paper a prototype for 5MW generator was built and a comparative study of the performance both of no load...
In the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) sensorless control system for electric vehicle (EV), in order to improve system robustness and adaptive ability, a novel active-disturbance rejection controller (ADRC) is presented in this paper. In practice, the ADRC parameters are difficult to operate and adjust, so we introduce the fuzzy control, combined with their own characteristics,...
Cogging torque is one of the important issues for permanent magnet machines. Due to the interaction between the permanent magnets and slotted armature lamination, there exists cogging torque in slotted permanent magnet machines, which may cause noise and vibration. To reduce the cogging torque, the expression of the cogging torque was studied based on the Fourier analysis in this paper. Based on the...
