In this paper, the author present a fully packaged integrated optical circuit comprising a waveguide type II spontaneous parametric down-conversion (SPDC) source, an integrated polarisation splitter and a pump rejector. It represents a first example of an integrated circuit in LiNbO3 for quantum information processing and quantum cryptography.
Recent progress of wavelength conversion and all-optical signal processing in periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN) waveguides is reported. Applications for optical communications in the near-infrared, as well as for tuneable absorption spectroscopy in the mid-infrared are highlighted. Novel waveguide structures and fabrication methods are presented.
Integrated optical Lithium Niobate devices for all-optical signal processing in the 1.5 mum wavelength range are reviewed. Besides nonlinear devices with periodically poled waveguides tunable Ti:Er:LiNbO3 waveguide lasers are presented. Novel waveguide structures are reported.
