The paper presents investigations of the structure of ion-beam coatings produced by spraying Ni and Cr targets as in a pure form, so with the addition of 1% and 5% of ultradispersed diamonds (UDD). The structure of these coatings is investigated as a function of their formation. The mechanism underlying the influence of UDD, incorporated into spraying targets, on the structure of coatings is suggested.
