The structure and operation principles of power supply for AC arc welding with thyristor regulation of welding current and additional inductor were described. The analysis of harmonic spectrum of welding current was carried out. The dependence of power quality on current regulation angle was studied.
The structure and operation principles of multiphase interleaved power factor corrector were described. The dependence of input current quality on number of phases of multiphase interleaved power factor corrector was investigated. The rational number of phases of multiphase interleaved power factor corrector was determined for specified conditions.
Direct Energy and Energy Storage circuit topologies of DC power supplies for micro resistance welding are analyzed and compared in the paper. The circuits' basic parameters of energy quality are evaluated. The advantages of Energy Storage circuit topology are shown, which make possible to recommend it for use in micro resistance welding machines.
