We introduce a platform based on passive and electro-optic polymers, and present a serial 100G transmitter with 22-nm tunability. We achieve 100-Gb/s transmission over 1625-m, and demonstrate the flexibility of the transmitter inside data-center networks.
Within PANTHER research project, we aim to develop multi-rate, multi-format, multi-reach and multi-flow terabit transceivers for data-center gateways, having the capability of flexibly controlling this enormous capacity and distributing it among independent optical flows. To this end, we combine electro-optic with passive polymers and we develop a novel photonic integration platform with unprecedented...
A set of polymer-based hybrid integrated devices for WDM-PON networks is presented. Optical line terminals based on polymer AWGs are proposed and a polymer waveguide tunable laser is also presented for colorless optical network units.
We demonstrate 40 Gb/s SOA-based wavelength conversion from a RZ into a vestigial-sideband RZ signal. SOA related pattern effects are successfully suppressed by proper choice of the red-shift optical filter.
