We have demonstrated an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) radar experiment combined with millimeter-wave radio over fiber (RoF). In result, high flame rate and high space resolution of 30 cm in 5 m distance (theoretical space resolution of 1.52 cm) was successfully achieved.
Single-carrier photonic wireless transmission at 31 GHz and 8.0 Gbaud with 64QAM is successfully achieved with error-free operation. A newly developed wide bandwidth high power photodetector and a pre-equalizing subsystem are presented.
To avoid the modal crosstalk-induced power fading, a mode assignment technique has been proposed and experimentally demonstrated for mode division multiplexed W-band radio-over-fiber links.
A closed-form capacity expression for polarization-multiplexed coherent MIMO radio-over-fiber (RoF) links at millimeter-wave bands is derived and the impact of the fiber's polarization rotation and the wireless antenna misalignment on the MIMO channel capacity is revealed. The analytical results are validated via an indoor W-band (75–110 GHz) 10-Gbaud MIMO-RoF transmission experiment.
We report 22.4Gbps photonic wireless transmission at a low optical received power level in 1km optical fiber. In the 1m wireless transmission demonstration (6Gbaud, 16QAM), a new high-sensitivity photoreceiver and a new calibration software technique have been developed.
This paper presents a newly developed arm-waving dynamic phantom that can simulate the walking and running motion of a human. The arm-waving phantom has unique features, in that waving of the right and left arms and the direction and speed of waving can be controlled independently, leading to excellent capability to replicate a variety of natural walking and running styles of an average human. Using...
Through experimentation and analyses of apple peeling, we examined the implicit knowledge necessary to perform study support for exercise and performance. A pressure sensor, an eye-mark recorder, a miniature wireless camera, and a surface electromyography were used to assess actions of 10 examinees (6 men, 4 women) during an experiment, which revealed three main differences between experts and non-experts:...
