One-pot synthesis of Ag–Au bimetallic nanonetworks has been accomplished in formamide at ∼100 °C by the addition of Ag + or AuCl 4− into pre-prepared Au or Ag (respectively) nanoparticle dispersions. Amphiphilic poly(ethylene oxide)-poly(propylene oxide) block copolymers serve as the reducing, stabilizing and morphogenic agents, and no further ingredients or energy input are required.
