This paper describes the measurement errors that could be obtained on four terminal pair impedance (Z4TP) measurements up to 13 MHz using a vector network analyzer (VNA). To highlight these issues different configurations of measurement have been set up: the use of different calibration kits to calibrate a VNA, the use of BNC — type N adapters. The knowledge of the impedance value of the load standard...
Dermal sinus and tethered cord are two signifi cant lesions which are the result of an interference with the normal neurulation process which occurs in early pregnancy. Before dealing with these controversial anomalies, it is worth mentioning briefl y the commoner defect seen on the lower back—the post anal dimple— which comes into the differential diagnosis of dermal sinus.
Helioseismic global modes change in time, in particular on time scales of the solar cycle. These changes show, in fact, strong correlation with the magnetic activity cycle of the Sun, indicating that a most likely cause of the variation of the mode characteristics, such as frequency, is the magnetic field. In the present paper I attempt to find out in what ways and to what degree the magnetic atmosphere...
The Line Impedance Stabilization Network (LISN) is mostly used in electromagnetic compatibility for conducted and radiated radio-frequency emission and susceptibility tests. The input impedance is one of the most important parameters in LISN calibration. To measure the input impedance, an adapter is required to connect the Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) to the Equipment Under Test (EUT) port of the...
This paper describes test cells for electromagnetic characterization of materials in the frequency range from 5 Hz to 1000 MHz, which were developed at SIQ in the past 3 years as a part of EMINDA EMRP Project. Test cells are used for traceable measurements of different electromagnetic properties of bulk solid materials. Traceability of measurements is assured using characterized reference samples...
This article describes the implementation of a high accuracy signal parameter estimation algorithm for estimating signal parameters of Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU). The algorithm presented is compared with standard four parameter sine fit algorithm, showing improved performance for harmonically distorted signals, which are commonly present in power line signals.
The paper describes the development and construction of digital arbitrary waveform generator used for simulation of energy harvesters. It is able to generate arbitrary signals that are common for different energy harvesters, including piezoelectric, thermoelectric and mechanical devices. 20-bit DAC resolution was selected to cover great dynamic range of different devices.
The paper describes development of a system for electromagnetic characterization of ceramics samples in the frequency range from 5 Hz to 1000 MHz. Main system components will be characterized test cell for the samples, impedance analyzer or VNA and PC computer with software for remote control and analysis of measured results. The system will be able to make traceable measurements of different parameters...
This paper describes mathematical modeling of squirrel cage design AC current shunts. These shunts are designed to have a flat frequency response up to 100 kHz. Model was made using lumped element modeling and then analytical transfer function and input impedance of the shunt were derived from the model. Then these functions have been used in excel where frequency response and input impedance as a...
The article describes dissipation factor standard realization and practical measurements with GR 1615-A Capacitance Bridge. Realization of dissipation factor standard is shown with theoretical background with uncertainty explanation. Standard is further on compared to actual measurements.
The existing series of coaxial current shunts has been expanded with a set of 6 coaxial current shunts of the same design for currents from 100 μA to 30 mA. Four of them have been implemented in AC current measurement with direct method and the operating range of AC current measurement has been expanded down to 100 μA. Additional validations of coaxial current shunts have been performed. According...
