We propose channel-dependent gain (CDG) reduction technique using single-core few-mode EDFA for multi-core transmission system. We investigate experimentally the proposed core-mode to LP-mode scrambled conversion characteristics using photonic lantern and realize low CDG independent of mode-dependent gain in EDFA.
We have fabricated and characterized a niobium titanium nitride (NbTiN)-based superconducting nanowire single- photon detector (SSPD or SNSPD) on the silicon (Si) waveguide toward the realization of waveguide-coupled SSPD. The superconducting critical temperature and critical current were 7.85 K and 34.4 μA at 0.3 K, respectively. We investigated the optical response of the fabricated device and found...
We report the fabrication and characterization of a niobium titanium nitride (NbTiN)-based superconducting nanowire single-photon detector (SSPD or SNSPD) on the Si waveguide toward the realization of waveguide-coupled SSPD. The device consists of a silicon optical waveguide fabricated using a silicon-on-insulator (SOI) substrate and a 100-nm-wide NbTiN nanowire constructed on the waveguide, with...
In our recent studies, we demonstrated a conversion of a visible photon at 780 nm to a 1522-nm photon by using difference frequency generation. Intensity correlation measurement on the converted light confirmed that the non-classical property of the input single photon is retained over the conversion process. We further performed a conversion of one half of an entangled photon pair and observed a...
We report experimental demonstration of an optical gate that increases the size of polarization-entangled W-states by accessing only one qubit, and discuss strategies of local expansion and fusion to prepare large scale W-state networks.
We experimentally demonstrate frequency down-conversion of non-classical light by difference-frequency generation. We prepared a heralded single photon at wavelength of 780 nm, which corresponds to a resonant wavelength of a Rb atom for a quantum memory, and then converted the wavelength to a telecommunication wavelength of 1522 nm. The observed second-order correlation g(2) (0) of the converted light...
