We demonstrate asynchronous, packetized data transmission from distributed commercial sensors in an optical CDMA network. Error-free transmission is obtained and the near-far problem is reduced using all-optical signal processing with a nonlinear optical loop-mirror.
All-optical processing technologies, including all-optical thresholding, noise suppression, and autocorrelation peak detection, are shown to enhance the performance of incoherent optical CDMA networks. A truly-asynchronous optical network with flexible quality-of-service and self-healing capability is demonstrated.
Optical steganography for data-hiding is experimentally demonstrated using group velocity dispersion in an optical network. A stealth channel is temporally and spectrally hidden underneath a public channel. Our technique applies to several different types of optical systems including optical code division and wavelength division multiplexing. The hidden signal is retrieved at the receiver through...
We propose and demonstrate the enhancement of data networks security using optical signal processing. Optical steganography that based on spread spectrum is used to inhibit the observation and analysis of data traffic. With the use of optical CDMA, service interruption is prevented in the presence of infrastructure attacks. Unlike conventional wavelength and time multiplexing approaches, the soft...
We propose and demonstrate the use of optical signal processing to enhance the security of data networks. Optical steganography is used to inhibit the observation and analysis of data traffic. With the use of optical CDMA, service interruption is prevented in the presence of infrastructure attacks. The soft blocking capability provides protection paths without the need of permanently reserving the...
