Bei langsamer Diffusion von O2 wandelt sich ein Distickstoffkomplex in einen Disauerstoffkomplex um, aus dem O2 dann durch CO verdrängt werden kann.

Crudden et al. präsentieren in ihrer Zuschrift auf S. 8250 ff. einen Distickstoff‐Rhodium‐Komplex mit einem N‐heterocyclischen Carben, der zwei sukzessive Einkristall‐zu‐Einkristall‐Umwandlungen unter Bildung von O2‐ und CO‐Komplexen eingeht.
