Les opérés bariatriques sont parmi nous ! Rassurons-nous : nul crainte à avoir. En France, 17 000 patients sont opérés chaque année, et subissent une grande variété d’interventions ou de réinterventions. Leur suivi est encadré et l’offre de soins est en principe suffisante pour prendre en charge les problèmes postopératoires, s’il le faut dans un lieu éloigné de l’équipe médicale qui a assuré le suivi initial. Néanmoins, des questions se posent tout au long du parcours médical de ces patients pour lesquelles des connaissances générales doivent être partagées par tous les professionnels de santé : doit-on instaurer une surveillance spécifique ? Existe-t-il des urgences dans la prise en charge des complications ? Quelles précautions prendre lorsque un opéré bariatrique doit subir d’autres examens ou interventions ? Quand et comment s’occuper des séquelles dermo-cutanées inesthétiques ?
