Direct torque control (DTC) is characterized by a fast torque response and robust control. However, this control is highly sensitive to stator resistance. The variation of a stator resistance due to changes in temperature or frequency deteriorates the performance of the drive. In order to overcome this problem, a method for compensation of the stator resistance disturbance is proposed by using the...
The pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique is used for the room-temperature (RT) deposition of Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) films. The PLD-CZTS films were subjected to post-annealing at different temperature ranging from 300–500°C in argon atmosphere. The X-ray diffraction and Raman analyses confirmed that the films crystallize in the kesterite structure regardless of their annealing temperature (Ta), but their...
CZTS thin films were prepared by simple Sol-gel method. CZTS sol-gel mixture contains tin chloride, copper acetate, zinc acetate and thiourea as a source of sulfur. CZTS solution was then deposited on molybdenum coated glass substrates. The prepared thin films were annealed at 540 °C in sulfur atmosphere for one hour. CZTS films showed good crystalline quality and optical properties that depend on...
Today recent developments in renewable technology such as wind and photovoltaic systems encourage people to generate electricity with low investment costs. In this manner, this may result in partial reduction in power demand hence import of primary sources may gradually decline as well as foreign dependence on energy. Furthermore this lets decrease power losses in transmission lines by reducing power...
Photovoltaic systems (PVS) based MicroGrid (MG) should be able to operate at the maximum power point (MPP) in order to extract the maximum available power during atmospheric conditions changes. In addition to this, the PVSs should be able also to operate below the MPP in order to participate to the MG regulation such as grid frequency stabilization, voltage profile control and grid management support...
Conduction mechanism was investigated from DC and AC conductivity measurements in the thin film ternary semiconductor Cu2SnS3 compound. The electrical properties of this material were analyzed by impedance spectrometry (IS) in the frequency range 100 Hz – 1 MHz and in low temperature up to 77 K (−196 °C). The activation energy for the conduction process is estimated from the analysis of the temperature...
In this paper, a new and compact rectenna is proposed for the application of ISM band at 2.45 GHz using open complementary split ring resonator (OCSRR). The simulated rectifying efficiency and DC voltage were, respectively 57% and 0.9 V when the input power to the rectifying circuit was 0dBm (1mW). The highest efficiency, 62%, was achieved at 2.45 GHz for 3dBm input power and for a charge load 1kΩ.
Synchronization is an important issue in the control of grid connected inverters and most of the algorithms use the phase measurement of the component of the voltage of the grid with the classical corrector PI. In this article, we use a new synchronization of the phase-locked loop (PLL) with a PI controller commissioned by the fuzzy logic. The gains of the PI controller are changed using the algorithm...
V-doped TiO2 nanoparticles (NPs) was synthesized by a sol-gel hydrolysis method using titanium butoxide (Ti(OBu)4) and vanadyl acetylacetonate (VO(acac)2) as a precursor and dopant, respectively. The effects of different V : Ti ratios on the crystal structure, band gap energy and photocatalytic activity have been investigated. The photocatalytic activity of V-doped TiO2 NPs was evaluated using UV-vis...
Soiling can greatly decrease the performance of PV systems in desert regions. There are different ways of measuring soiling in the field and laboratory, such as mass of dust deposited, light transmission reduction, or output of a PV cell. A review of common PV soiling measurement techniques is presented. Also, sunlight angle of incidence is shown experimentally to affect the apparent soiling loss...
this paper develops an adaptive control to extract the maximum power from the photovoltaic generator. A new algorithm is developed based on the Modified Model Reference Adaptive Control (MMRAC) combined with Incremental Conductance algorithm (IC), and Lyapunov method to obtain the control law to achieve fastly the Maximum Power Point (MPP) under the variation of temperature and the irradiance. This...
The self-consumption is a hot topic, it relates to both the energy management and the control of energy expenses and also produce renewable energy. However, the self-consumption present constraints related to variations in the solar production and the load curve of the consumer. In order to promote the use of renewable energies, contribute to the reduction of gas CO2 emissions, protect the environment...
as a basis for Battery SOC estimation and grid integration numerical analysis, Equivalent Circuit Model (ECM) based on RC circuit topology is one of the most widely-used battery models. In the ECM model, model parameters such as internal resistance, RC circuit capacitance, and resistance are physically time-variant and depend on the battery SOC and temperature. However, as a trade-off on the gap between...
This paper presents the study of the seawater desalination process, by humidification-dehumidification, via an agricultural greenhouse with solar collectors.
With the growing progress in the smart grid and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies from one hand and on the other hand the decrease of the cost of renewable energy, especially the photovoltaic (PV) energy. Energy management systems (EMS) for PV self-consumption would represent an efficient and intelligent solution for each electricity consumer in order to optimize the use of PV production while...
The paper reports on the application of full-order ℋ∞ controller and ℋ∞ Fixed-Order Optimisation (HIFOO) controller to a Doubly-Fed Induction Generator wind turbine (DFIG). These controllers use the ℋ∞ mixed sensitivity problem to achieve an enhancement in both, Nominal Performance (NP) and Robust Stability (RS) margins for the uncertain DFIG plant while respecting constraints, such as dynamic tracking...
In this paper a new Maximum Power Point Tracking algorithm based on the mathematical model is proposed for photovoltaic systems that include photovoltaic solar module, boost converter and a resistive load.
The full-potential linearized augmented plane wave method (FP-LAPW) based on the density functional theory (DFT) and Boltzmann's Transport theory, are employed to investigate theoretically the electronic structure, optical and electrical properties of Sc, Ti and V doped rutile SnO2. The FP-LAPW based on the new potential approximation known as the Tran-Blaha modified Becke-Johnson exchange potential...
This paper presents the findings of the study investigating the utilization of electricity produced by the solar photovoltaic (PV) system installed in a house for satisfying the energy demand of a family for one year. The evaluation of the self-consumption has been done using a PV plant installed on the coastal site of Bou Ismaïl (Algeria), the energy demand is based on the specific energy needs of...
