We demonstrate an integrated silicon source of time-energy entangled photons. Entanglement is proved using a Franson type experiment, obtaining visibility exceeding 90% and a violation of the Bell's inequality by more than 10 standard deviations.
GeSn/Ge heterostructure microdisks integrated on Si were fabricated. The quality of material grown by CVD was investigated and the photoluminescence spectrum was measured using a Ti:Sapphire laser as an excitation source under variable pump powers.
This paper investigates, experimentally, the temperature dependence of performance of the solar panel. The panel performance is determined by short circuit current (Isc), open circuit voltage (Voc), fill factor (FF) and efficiency (□). The voltage and current characteristics of photovoltaic system is highly influenced by temperature. In order to increase the degree of electrical conversion to diminish...
Intense optical field strengths result from redistributed photon density of states in hybrid metal-dielectric photonic crystals and microcavity structures are probed through spectral domain and angle resolved Raman scattering studies.
Let R_0, n, be the real Clifford algebra generated by vectors e_i for i=1, 2, cdots, n, where e_i^2=-1 and e_ie_j+e_je_i=0 if i neq j, i, j=1, 2, cdots, n. e_0 is the unit element. In this article, the Hilbert Boundary Value Problem for 2-monogenic functions in the unit ball is investigated.
Let R_0, n be the real Clifford algebra generated by e_1, e_2, cdots, e_n satisfying e_ie_j+e_je_i=-2 delta_ij for i, j=1, 2, cdots, n. e_0 is the unit element. In this paper, we first give the kernel function for the generalized analytic function. Further, a kind of Hilbert Boundary Value Problem for generalized analytic functions in R^n+1_+ will be investigated and the solution is obtained.
Fluctuations of device characteristics due to random discrete dopant (RDD) distribution are numerically investigated in ultra-small Si nanowire transistors. Kinetic Monte Carlo process simulation is performed to obtain realistic RDD distributions, whose effects on the transport characteristics are then analyzed by using a non-equilibrium Green's function (NEGF) method. Fluctuations due to atomic disorder...
In this paper, according to modular and grouping mathematical rules included in He tu, Luo shu and stem-branch theory, novel associations are discovered between the five elements of containing notes and the Fibonacci modular sequence, which is of great value to reduce the mysterious sense of ancient Chinese culture and is quite helpful to uncover the final scientific secret of Wu yun liu qi theory...
An increasing popularity of smartphones affects interaction behaviors between people. The ubiquity of smartphones with embedded sensors can enable attractive sensing applications for collecting and reporting data in participatory sensing environment. However, time and monetary cost hinder people from providing sensing data using their smartphones. Smartphone users will probably not participate in...
When the agent has the motivation fairness preference, the principal of sufficient statistics advocated by the classical contract theory is no longer tenable. By incorporating Rabin motivation fairness model into the classical contract theory, we draw two conclusions: Firstly the optimal contract is over-determinate. That is to say, the optimal incentive contract based on complete information should...
Tibetan information processing technology has made some advances. However it still does not keep up with the development of today's information age. The semantic study based on the Tibetan Ontology is important and valuable. In this paper, we propose an approach of Tibetan concept similarity computation based on Ontology. It considers four aspects such as the semantic coincidence degree, the semantic...
This quantitative study explores students' motivation towards the use of wikis to encourage self-directed learning (SDL) and collaborative learning (CoL). SDL and CoL are the goals for Singapore's Ministry of Education Information and Communication Technology Masterplan 3. Wikis were used in the project to support reflection and communication within groups. Five classes consisting of 181 Secondary...
The aim of the AEḡIS experiment is to measure the gravitational acceleration for anti-hydrogen in the Earth's gravitational field, thus testing the Weak Equivalence Principle, which states that all bodies fall with the same acceleration independent of their mass and composition. AEḡIS will make use of a gravity module which includes a silicon detector, in order to measure the deflection of anti-hydrogen...
The SGD is a Soft Gamma-ray Detector on board the ASTRO-H satellite and is a Narrow FOV Compton Camera. The key technology utilized to realize this concept is a “large-scale” Si/CdTe multilayer Compton camera. Although we need an algorithm that can reconstruct the gamma-ray event correctly with this detector, such algorithms have not been well established so far. We have developed a new event reconstruction...
This paper develops a new deadlock prevention policy for a class of flexible manufacturing systems called as systems of simple sequential processes with resources (S3PRs). Siphon basis is introduced to obtain a compact Petri net controller by considering the complementary sets of siphons in S3PRs. A siphon basis consists of strict minimal siphons (SMSs) whose complementary sets can cover the complementary...
For the first time, herein we demonstrate gate-all-around field-effect-transistors having a horizontally suspended nanowire channel. The suspended nanowires were grown using the vapor-liquid-solid technique. The gate-all-around field-effect-transistor exhibited a p-type accumulation mode with desirable performance. To study properties of the connection between the nanowire channels and electrodes,...
Utilizing Binary Signed-Digit (BSD) number representation in RNS arithmetic is called BSD-RNS. Up to the present, 2's complement BSD-RNS has been proposed. In this work, we utilize 1-out-of-3 encoding to represent residues in BSD-RNS. This paper proposes efficient modular multipliers for the moduli set {2n-1, 2n, 2n+1} based on 1-out-of-3 BSD number system. Compared to efficient 2's complement BSD-RNS...
This paper investigates the general achievable rate region (ARR) for a wireless multi-way relay (MWR) network with full message exchange and decode-and-forward (DF) cooperative strategy. The MWR network consists of K users, each equipped with M antennas, and a single relay equipped with N antennas; and there is no user-user direct connectivity. Since different schedules would result in different ARRs,...
A new designer dielectric metamaterial featuring an isotropic photonic bandgap at 1550 nm wavelength designed as a finite thickness, 220 nm thick 2d slab, is fabricated in a CMOS-compatible silicon-on-insulator process. This “hyperuniform disordered solid” (HUDS) is neither crystalline nor quasicrystalline.
