We present a mobile application for the vowels learning of in children with SD, the methodology of the application design and the description of utilization are explained. The application was used by 4 children for one month (5 sessions per week), the results show that the application is an aid to primary teachers in teaching vowels in children with DS.
Early exposure to devices such as smart phones and tablets among children as a learning tool has been very common nowadays. Learning using devices like iPads and tablets can stimulate children's motivation and concentration. Therefore, evaluation and measurement of user experience for mobile learning application become crucial. There were some studies have been done in order to get feedback from users...
Multimedia advertising content needs to be assessed before campaign to assure its future success. Content consumption techniques are used to identify user's interest through a determined content, but it needs effective validation. This paper describes the design of a two-fold analysis of video consumption implemented on EPSIS platform to measure users' interest. The platform consists in a web interface...
MFolktales is a multimedia application that contains Animation Module and interactivity modules which aim to promote Malay folk stories to children. This research is limited to children aged 5 to 7 years old. Therefore, approaches in developing animated multimedia applications are studied so that they can suit the children's interest and at the same time can act as a tool for learning. This paper...
Basic literacy and numeracy proficiency are two important skills which prepare and shape students for lifelong learning. This study focuses on numeracy skills for children with autism. It is crucial to conduct this study due to the increasing number of children with autism based on statistics data from the Malaysia Social Welfare Department. Children with autism have a neurological disorder that affects...
As an emerging global, Internet-based information service architecture, Internet of Things facilitates different things connecting to IP network. Using information sensing devices such as sensors, radio frequency identification (RFID), and global positioning systems and so on, Internet of Things is aimed to facilitate connection, identification, management and control between things. With growth of...
Mobile devices are increasingly accepted as suitable media for multimedia-rich applications. Software firms have started promoting programming platforms and tools tailored to satisfy the requirements of mobile device users, developers, and resource constraints. This article reviews the main characteristics, relative merits, and shortcomings of the most popular development platform options - specifically,...
Indagator is a mobile application which incorporates multiplayer, pervasive gaming elements into content sharing. The application allows users to annotate physical locations with multimedia content (annotations), and concurrently, provide opportunities for play through creating and engaging interactive game elements, earning points, and socializing. This paper examines the motivations for accessing...
The recent introduction of smartphones has resulted in an explosion of innovative mobile applications. The computational requirements of many of these applications, however, can not be met by the smartphone itself. The compute power of the smartphone can be enhanced by distributing the application over other compute resources. Existing solutions comprise of a light weight client running on the smartphone...
The content technology need to approach new forms and formats with more intelligence and more flexibility to enable a set of new features for the final users with respect those that are present on market standards. In this paper, an evolved content model and tools that allow the personal content management on PDA are presented. The proposed solution has been developed by expanding the AXMEDIS MPEG-21...
In our article, we present NFCSocial, a mobile application prototype which uses the near field communication (NFC) technology to ease the update of presence information on federated communication systems and social networks. We discuss some technical choices we made in order to use contextual information retrieved via NFC in our application and to connect to an IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) network...
There has been an alarming increase in demand for multimedia applications due to explosive growth in communication, commerce and entertainment services. Nowadays devices such PDA, laptops and phone have more processing and computing capability. Consequently, this will eventually allow more effective and efficient video streaming and mobile applications over wireless network. Perhaps the development...
A triple-CPU mobile application processor is developed on an 8.95mm/spl times/8.95mm die in a 0.13/spl mu/m CMOS process. The IC integrates 3/spl times/ARM926 cores, a DSP several accelerators, as well as strong bus and memory interfaces. It consumes 120mW for digital TV, Web browser, and 30 graphics, and 250mW@200MHz for 600MIPS with full processing.
