We propose a transmitter diversity method to be used in OFDM systems. The proposed method uses 2 transmit antennas and 4 distinct subcarriers to obtain eighth order transmit diversity gain. The proposed method utilizes both space and frequency diversity. The simulation results show that the proposed method can provide more gain than QOSTBC for DVB-H and IEEE 802.20.
Transmit diversity in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) has gained a lot of interest recently due to its ability to transform frequency selective fading into multiple flat fadings. In this paper we investigate 2 transmit and 1 receive (2Tx:1Rx) space-time OFDM (ST-OFDM) and space-frequency OFDM (SF-OFDM) systems in conjunction with convolutional precoding as a redundancy method to...
This paper presents a channel estimation scheme that is designed for MIMO-OFDM systems capable of operating in time varying and frequency selective propagation channels. Orthogonality is applied, either in space- frequency, or in space-time dimensions interchangeably for both the preamble and pilot symbols. The efficiency of the system is based on the accuracy of the channel estimation and tracking...
