Die metatarsale Fistelbildung ist eine unübliche Hauterkrankung, die fast ausschließlich bei deutschen Schäferhunden und ihren Mischlingen beschrieben wurde. Nach bestem Wissen der Autoren handelt es sich hier um den ersten Bericht einer fokalen metatarsalen Fistelbildung bei einem Greyhound. Innerhalb von sechs Wochen nachdem eine Behandlung mit 0,1%ig hergestelltem Tacrolimus Gel zweimal täglich begonnen worden war, wurde eine Remission erzielt und der Hund blieb weitere sechs Monate bei zweimal wöchentlicher Applikation stabil, bevor die Behandlung gänzlich gestoppt wurde. Zum Zeitpunkt, als dieser Bericht geschrieben wurde, war der Hund immer noch in Remission, es war dies ein Jahr nach Beendigung der Behandlung.
