Electrocaloric response in slim‐like (Ba0.9Ca0.1)(Zr0.2Ti0.8)O3 and square‐like Pb(Zr0.95Ti0.05)O3 hysteresis loops are observed by cycling samples between positive and negative values of electric field, respectively. The slim‐like (Ba0.9Ca0.1)(Zr0.2Ti0.8)O3 ceramics represent a typical electrocaloric response, while the square‐like Pb(Zr0.95Ti0.05)O3 ceramics depict an unusual electrocaloric response. It is worth noting that the unusual electrocaloric response (inverse electrocaloric effect) can be induced by inverse electric field. Furthermore, the highest value of inverse electrocaloric effect is not obtained at negative coercive field but at values that are half of it. With the increase in inverse electric field, the value of induced unusual electrocaloric effect becomes weaker and only positive electrocaloric response is present at higher magnitudes of inverse field. In the present work, the relationship between electrocaloric response and polarization behavior of these two kinds of samples are discussed.
