Ibaliidae is a small parasitoid family including nineteen extant records of species in three genera, Ibalia Latreille, Heteribalia Sakagami and Eileenella Fergusson in the world. All known ibaliids are primary solitary, koinobiont endoparasitoids of wood‐boring sawfly larvae. Some species have been used as biological control agents of siricid forest pests in New Zealand, Australia and Tasmani.
