In this experimental work, different morphologies of the RbPbI3 nanostructures were successfully synthesized via a simple hydrothermal method. The effect of different parameters such as RbI:PbI2 mol ratios, hydrothermal time and temperature was studied on the product size and morphology. The results showed that the parameters have significant effects on the product size and morphology and with change of each parameter, the morphology is changed. The crystallinity of the product was examined by X-ray diffraction pattern and it was found that the products are well crystallized. Optical property of the nanostructure was studied by DRS spectra and the results showed that the obtained band gap is wider than the bulk one due to the quantum confinement. We also investigated the photocatalytic activity of the synthesized product and it was found that the product can be destructive to the methyl orange structure.
