In der vorliegenden Arbeit werden diagnostische und therapeutische Methoden (Techniken) der Manuellen Therapie für die Hüftregion dargestellt. Die Zusammenstellung erfolgt aus der Sicht der drei Ärzteseminare der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Manuelle Medizin, federführend durch das Ärzteseminar Hamm-Boppard (FAC). Beschrieben werden die Anamnese, Inspektion und insbesondere die orientierenden und gezielten Untersuchungen, die Prüfung der Gelenkbeweglichkeit und die Funktionsprüfung der Hüftmuskulatur. Dabei wird aufgezeigt, wie die Gelenkbeweglichkeit durch mobilisierende Techniken verbessert werden kann.
