Recent field research on grassland fungi in Slovakia resulted in collection of rare geoglossaceous fungi. Previously published data on the distribution of the genus Geoglossum in Slovakia have been extended: G. glutinosum (11 sites), G. glabrum (3 sites), G. cookeanum (1 site), G. umbratile (9 sites) and G. fallax (3 sites). The last three species are new for the territory. Each treated species is...
Three new oribatid mite species, Belbodamaeus indicus sp. n. (Damaeidae), Malaconothrus macrofoveolatus sp. n. (Malaconothridae) and Nothrus phylliformis sp. n. (Nothridae), are described from Indian soils. Belbodamaeus indicus sp. n. is clearly distinguishable from all species of Belbodamaeus by the absence of discidia, very long sensilli and morphology of parastigmatic tubercles Sa. Malaconothrus macrofoveolatus...
Descriptions of Cerapachys browni sp. n. and Cerapachys costatus sp. n. from India are provided. C. browni is the member of the wide spread dohertyi group while C. costatus represents the 3rd species of the rare crawleyi group, with C. sauteri Forel, 1913 and C. crawleyi Wheeler, 1924 reported earlier. An identification key to the worker caste of Indian Cerapachys species is provided.
Two new species of oribatid mites, Suctobelbella (Ussuribata) phylliformis sp. n. (Suctobelbidae) and Neoribates (Neoribates) paratuberculatus sp. n. (Parakalummidae), are described from ferralitic soil of polydominant forest in Dong Nai Culture and Nature Reserve, southern Vietnam. Suctobelbella (Ussuribata) phylliformis sp. n. is similar morphologically to S. (U.) separata Mahunka, 2001, however,...
Erythraeus (Erythraeus) serbicus Šundić, Haitlinger & Hakimitabar sp. n. is described and illustrated based on larvae collected from the host Aphis craccivora (Koch, 1854) in Serbia. Leptus eslamizadehi Saboori, Abrolophus montenegrinus Saboori et al., Charletonia krendowskyi Feider, and Erythraeus (Erythraeus) mariolae Haitlinger are reported for the first time from Serbia.
Leptus (Leptus) delijanensis Khademi, Saboori & Hakimitabar sp. n. (Acari: Erythraeidae) is described and illustrated from larva ectoparasitic on undetermined grasshopper (Orthoptera: Acrididae) from Delijan, Markazi Province, Iran. It is the first report of Leptus species with solenidion of TFe I from Asia. A key to larval species of Leptus with solenidion on TFe I of the world is presented.
Three new species of oribatid mites (Acari: Oribatida), Austrachipteria novazealandica sp. n. (Achipteriidae), Cultroribula otagoensis sp. n. (Astegistidae) and Microlamellarea minuta sp. n. (Lamellareidae), are described from New Zealand. The family Lamellareidae and the genus Microlamellarea are recorded for the first time in the fauna of this country. Austrachipteria novazealandica sp. n. is morphologically...
A new species of oribatid mites of Monoschelobates (Oribatida: Scheloribatidae) is described from upper soil and leaf litter in the primary evergreen lowland rainforest of Amazonian Peru. Monoschelobates masani Ermilov sp. n. differs from all species of the genus by the presence of rostrum triangular and protruding (vs. rostrum rounded) and well-developed of exobothridial setae (vs. minute), and the...
The oribatid mite genus Brassiella (Oribatida, Caloppiidae) is recorded for the first time from Taiwan. A new species of this genus is described from leaves of Tabebuia chrysantha of Qiaotou Sugar Factory; Brassiella taiwanica Ermilov sp. n. differs from all other species by the following combination of morphological traits: lamellae not reaching insertions of lamellar setae; lamellar setae dilated...
